Mom has been gradually improving as of late. She still gets a bit nauseated at times, but she has medication that is fairly effective at keeping it under control. Other than that she is feeling okay, just a bit on the tired side. Her appetite is getting better too; she even made a roast with potatoes, carrots and peas for dinner Monday night.
Her blood counts have been steadily rising over the past week or so. Right now, her neutrophil count (a type of white blood cell) is above 500. Apparently, this is the magic number where you no longer need to be supervised as closely. Instead of the usual daily visits to the clinic, her next appointments are now not until Monday and Thursday.
Both Mom and Dad will need to find something to do with their newly found free time. I think I see a few jigsaw puzzles in their future.
